Terms of Service
01Who we are and what these Terms cover
02Definitions
- “Company” — a business that has been onboarded to Tap2Tip, has connected a Stripe account, and at whose sites Tags are used. Tips are received by the Company.
- “Staff User” — an individual worker to whom a Tag is assigned by a Company, and who may be given a login to view tips attributed to their Tag and to activate or pause it.
- “Tipper” or “Guest” — a customer who leaves a tip by tapping a Tag. No account is required.
- “Tag” — a passive NFC device supplied by TipEase, in wristband or lanyard-card format, which opens a Tipping Page when tapped by a phone.
- “Tipping Page” — the web page opened by tapping a Tag, on which a Guest selects and pays a tip.
- “Tip” — a voluntary payment made by a Guest through a Tipping Page.
- “Platform Fee” — the fee TipEase charges on each Tip, as set out in clause 8.
- “Processing Fee” — the payment processing cost charged by Stripe and the card schemes, which is added to the Guest’s total at checkout as set out in clause 8.
- “Stripe Account” — the Stripe connected account opened by a Company through Stripe Connect, into which Tips settle.
03What Tap2Tip is — and what it is not
04Eligibility, accounts and recipients
4.1 Age
You must be at least 18 years old to leave a Tip or to hold any Tap2Tip account.
4.2 Guests
Guests do not need an account, and are not asked to register, download anything or store card details in order to leave a Tip.
4.3 Companies
A Company must be a validly registered legal entity holding a current trade licence, and must complete Stripe’s onboarding and identity verification before Tags can be activated. By onboarding, the Company confirms that the person completing onboarding is authorised to bind it, that the information supplied is accurate and current, and that it will keep that information up to date.
4.4 Staff Users
A Staff User account is created at the direction of the Company. It is a limited account: a Staff User can see Tips attributed to their own Tag and can activate or pause that Tag. A Staff User cannot withdraw funds, does not hold a balance with TipEase, and is not asked for bank details, because Tips settle to the Company and not to the individual.
4.5 Recipients are Companies
Tips are received by Companies. TipEase does not currently offer Tap2Tip to individual, self-employed or unaffiliated recipients, and does not make payments to individuals.
4.6 Individual Recipients (future)
We may in future make Tap2Tip available to individual recipients who are not onboarded through a Company (“Individual Recipients”). If we do, additional terms will apply — including identity verification, direct payout arrangements and separate fee terms — and those terms will be published and accepted before any Individual Recipient can receive a Tip. Until then, no clause in these Terms should be read as permitting an individual to receive Tips directly.
4.7 Account security
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly at info@tipease.me if you believe an account has been compromised. Companies are responsible for the acts and omissions of their managers and Staff Users on the Platform.

07Tips
08Fees
8.1 Platform Fee
TipEase charges a Platform Fee of 7.5% of each Tip, deducted at the point of settlement, unless a different rate is agreed in writing in a Company Agreement.
8.2 We may change the Platform Fee
TipEase reserves the right to amend the Platform Fee at any time and at its sole discretion. We will publish the revised rate on tipease.me and notify Companies through the manager dashboard or by email. Any change applies only to Tips made after the revised rate takes effect. Continued use of the Platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the revised rate; a Company that does not accept it may terminate under clause 13.
8.3 Processing Fee
Stripe’s payment processing cost is added to the Guest’s total at checkout and is shown as a separate line before payment is confirmed. It is calculated so that the Tip amount chosen by the Guest is not reduced by processing costs. Processing rates are set by Stripe and the card schemes and vary by payment method; they may change without notice from us.
8.4 Worked example
| Line | Amount (AED) | Who receives it |
|---|---|---|
| Tip chosen by the Guest | 100.00 | — |
| Processing Fee added at checkout | 4.02 | Stripe / card schemes |
| Total charged to the Guest | 104.02 | — |
| Platform Fee (7.5% of the Tip) | 7.50 | TipEase |
| Settles to the Company | 92.50 | Company’s Stripe Account |
Illustrative only, using a processing rate of approximately 2.9% + AED 1. Actual amounts vary by payment method and by Stripe’s rates in force at the time.
8.5 No other charges during the pilot
During the pilot phase there is no setup fee, no monthly or subscription fee, no hardware charge and no minimum term. Outside the pilot phase, any additional charges will be set out in the Company Agreement before they apply.
8.6 Taxes
All fees stated in these Terms are exclusive of VAT and of any other tax, levy or duty. Where VAT or any other tax is or becomes chargeable on the Platform Fee, it will be added to that fee and, where required, a valid tax invoice will be issued. Each Company is responsible for its own tax position in respect of Tips it receives and distributes, including any VAT, corporate tax or payroll tax consequences of its own tips policy.
09How money moves
10Distribution to staff; no employment relationship
11Refunds, chargebacks and disputes
12Acceptable use
You must not use the Platform to:
- launder money, finance terrorism, evade sanctions, commit fraud, or carry out any unlawful activity;
- test stolen or unauthorised payment credentials, including through repeated small-value Tips;
- generate Tips other than genuine voluntary payments by real customers — including self-tipping, circular tipping, or artificial activity intended to inflate performance metrics, qualify for incentives, or move funds;
- present a Tip as payment for goods or services, as a mandatory service charge, or as a substitute for a price;
- pressure, coerce, mislead or repeatedly solicit a Guest into leaving a Tip;
- use a Tag other than at the Company and site to which it is mapped, or transfer a Tag to a person or business outside the Company;
- circumvent, understate or misreport amounts in order to avoid the Platform Fee;
- harass, abuse, threaten or discriminate against any Guest, Staff User or member of our team;
- copy, scrape, reverse engineer, decompile or probe the Platform, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to it or to any account; or
- upload to the Platform any content that is unlawful, misleading, obscene, or infringes another party’s rights, including staff photographs used without that person’s knowledge and consent.
We may investigate suspected breaches and may deactivate a Tag, suspend a login, suspend a Company account, or report the matter to Stripe or the relevant authorities.
13Suspension, termination and the pilot
14Availability and changes to the service
15Intellectual property and use of data
16Confidentiality
Each party will keep confidential the other’s non-public commercial information disclosed in connection with the Platform, including pilot terms, fee arrangements and tipping volumes, and will use it only for the purposes of the relationship. This does not apply to information that is public through no breach, was already lawfully held, or must be disclosed by law or to a regulator.
17Limitation of liability
18Indemnity
The Company will indemnify and hold harmless TipEase FZ-LLC, its officers, employees and affiliates against any claim, loss, damage, fine or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from its breach of these Terms, its misuse of the Platform, its tips policy or distribution of Tips, its handling of staff data, or its breach of applicable law.
19Third-party services
Payment processing is provided by Stripe, and payment authorisation by Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay and the card schemes, each under their own terms and privacy notices. Your use of those services is subject to their terms, and we are not responsible for them.
20General
- Assignment. You may not assign or transfer your rights without our written consent. We may assign these Terms as part of a reorganisation, merger or sale of the business.
- Force majeure. Neither party is liable for failure to perform caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including network, payment-provider or utility failure.
- Severability. If any provision is held invalid, the rest continues in force.
- No waiver. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
- Entire agreement. These Terms, the Privacy Policy and any Company Agreement form the entire agreement between the parties on this subject.
- Language. These Terms are issued in English. If translated, the English version prevails.
- Notices. Notices to TipEase should be sent to info@tipease.me. Notices to you may be given through the Platform, the dashboard or the email address on your account.
21Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always published at tipease.me with its effective date. Where a change is material, we will notify Companies by email or through the dashboard before it takes effect. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
22Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Dubai Courts.

Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how TipEase FZ-LLC collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you use Tap2Tip. It applies to Guests who leave a Tip, Staff Users whose Tags are tapped, and the people who manage a Company’s account. Terms defined in Part A have the same meaning here.
01Who is responsible for your data
02Our role and the Company’s role
Questions about why your employer has issued you a Tag, how tip records are used in your workplace, or how tips are shared should be raised with your employer in the first instance. You can still contact us directly at privacy@tipease.me to exercise your rights over the data we hold.
03What we collect
| Who | What we collect | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Guests | Tip amount, date and time; the Tag identifier tapped; a payment reference and limited card metadata (type, last four digits, issuing country); optional rating or comment; optional email or mobile number if you ask for a receipt | Entered by you, or returned to us by Stripe |
| Guests | Device and browser type, operating system, IP address, referring page and interaction events on the Tipping Page | Collected automatically |
| Staff Users | Name, job role, site or team; and a photograph, where you choose to upload one or your employer supplies one, for display on the Tipping Page. Photographs are stored on our servers and can be removed by you at any time | Uploaded by you, or provided by your employer |
| Staff Users | Email address and/or mobile number used for login and one-time passcodes; login and device activity | Provided by your employer or by you |
| Staff Users | Tag assignment history, and Tips attributed to your Tag including amount, time, site and any rating left | Generated by use of the Platform |
| Company contacts | Name, work email, phone number and role; company name, trade licence details and registered address; any logo or brand assets uploaded, which are stored on our servers | Provided or uploaded during onboarding |
04What we do not collect
- Full card numbers, CVV codes or payment credentials. These are entered into Stripe’s systems and the mobile wallets, never into ours.
- Staff bank account details. Tips settle to the Company, so we have no reason to hold them and do not ask for them.
- Emirates ID or passport data for Staff Users. This was collected under the previous worker-payout model and is no longer required. Company identity and trade licence verification is carried out by Stripe as part of Connect onboarding.
- Payroll, salary, disciplinary or HR records.
- Guest identity, unless a Guest chooses to give us an email or mobile number for a receipt.
05Why we use it
| Purpose | What this involves | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Providing the service | Opening the correct Tipping Page, taking the payment through Stripe, attributing the Tip and showing it in the staff and manager views | Performance of a contract |
| Security and fraud prevention | Detecting card testing, artificial or circular tipping, and unauthorised access; enforcing limits | Legitimate interests; legal obligation |
| Support and communication | Answering enquiries, sending service and account notices, issuing receipts | Contract; legitimate interests |
| Improving the product | Understanding how Tipping Pages perform and where the service fails, in aggregate | Legitimate interests |
| Analytics and cookies | Measuring traffic and page performance | Legitimate interests; consent where required |
| Legal and financial records | Keeping transaction records and meeting accounting, tax and anti-money-laundering obligations | Legal obligation |
We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not use tip records to build advertising profiles.
06Tip records and visibility at work
07Cookies and analytics
08Who we share data with
| Recipient | Why | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Payment processing, settlement to the Company’s account, identity verification of Companies, fraud and dispute handling | EU / global |
| Apple, Google, Samsung | Wallet payment authorisation when a Guest pays by Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay | Global |
| Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud | Hosting and storage of the Platform and its databases | Global |

| The Company | Tip records attributed to the Tags it has issued, as described in section 6 | UAE |
| Professional advisers, auditors, authorities | Where required for legal, accounting, regulatory or law-enforcement purposes | As applicable |
Each processor we engage is bound by contract to keep data secure, to use it only on our instructions, and to comply with applicable data protection law. We do not share personal data with any party for its own marketing purposes.
09International transfers
Our hosting, payment and analytics providers operate infrastructure outside the UAE, so your data may be transferred to and stored in other countries. Where we transfer personal data outside the UAE we do so on the basis permitted by the UAE Personal Data Protection Law — to a jurisdiction recognised as providing an adequate level of protection, under contractual safeguards with the recipient, or with your consent — and we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected to the standard described in this Policy.
10How long we keep it
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Transaction and Tip records | Five years from the date of the transaction, to meet UAE accounting, tax and anti-money-laundering record-keeping requirements |
| Staff User account and profile data, including any uploaded photograph | Deleted or anonymised within 90 days of the Tag being unassigned or the Company Agreement ending, unless it forms part of a transaction record. A photograph you remove yourself is deleted from display immediately and from our storage within 30 days |
| Company account and onboarding data | For the term of the relationship and five years afterwards |
| Guest contact details given for a receipt | Twelve months |
| Analytics data | Up to 14 months |
| Support correspondence | Two years from the last contact |
Where a record must be kept for a legal or financial purpose but is no longer needed to identify a person, we anonymise it rather than keep it in identifiable form.
11Security
12Your rights
Under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law you may:
- request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and information about how it is used;
- ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- ask us to delete data, where we are not required to keep it;
- ask us to restrict or stop certain processing, or object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- ask for your data in a portable, machine-readable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent — this does not affect processing already carried out; and
- complain to the UAE Data Office if you believe your data has been mishandled.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@tipease.me. We may need to verify your identity first. We will respond within 30 days, and will tell you if we need longer or cannot comply, and why. Where the Company is the controller of the data in question, we will pass your request to them and support them in answering it.
13Children
Tap2Tip is intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it promptly. Contact privacy@tipease.me if you believe a minor has provided us with data.
14Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is published at tipease.me with its effective date. Where changes are significant we will notify users through the Platform or by email where we can.
